Man’s best friend could soon have a new outlook on life in South Korea…
A South Korean court has ruled that it is now illegal to kill dogs for meat. Animal rights activists applauded the decision and hope to take it even further by outlawing the consumption of canines altogether.
Long a part of regional cuisine, it is believed that South Koreans eat roughly one million dogs per year. Fortunately for the dogs, this practice has already become taboo among the younger generations and animal rights groups.
I can sort of relate. I remember my great-grandma talking about eating squirrels and possums when she was younger. “That’s gross, grandma,” I’d say. Maybe this is just the Korean version of that.
