Three suspects have been indicted in kidnapping two actors and holding them hostage in Los Angeles County Superior Court. One of the actors was severely beaten.
Daisy McCrackin, 36, best known for her role in Halloween Resurrection, was kidnapped from her home along with Joseph Capone on May 3, 2017 by Keith Andre Stewart, Johntae Jones and Amber Neal.
McCrackin was forced to withdraw cash from multiple ATMs and write a check for $10,000 which was deposited by Neal. Capone was pistol-whipped, blindfolded and later stripped and beaten while being held in a bathtub at Jones’ residence. The ordeal lasted 30 hours.
The suspects dropped McCrackin off at her home the next day, where she immediately dialed 911 and reported the kidnapping to authorities.
Video of Neal being arrested went viral, with online viewers showing support of the woman after they saw images of LAPD officers with guns drawn approaching the unarmed woman.
“We are aware this video has raised concerns from the community. Although we are limited in what info we can release, we can confirm this individual was arrested on a felony kidnapping warrant & taken into custody without use-of-force. She is being held on 1 million dollars bail,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.
The suspects are expected to appear in court on July 23 for a pretrial hearing.
