The Pope is Calling a Meeting Over Sexual Abuse Scandals

In an unprecedented step, Pope Francis is calling a meeting amongst top officials of the Catholic Church to discuss the escalating sexual abuse scandal.

Presidents of the Catholic bishops conferences will meet in the Vatican from February 21-24, where Pope Francis will address the horrific problem within the Catholic Church. The Vatican press office confirmed the meeting.

“The Holy Father Francis, after hearing the Council of Cardinals, has decided to convene a meeting with the Presidents of the Episcopal Conferences of the Catholic Church on the theme of ‘Protection of minors,’ the press office said.
