Miley Cyrus has officially shut down the pregnancy rumors started by OK! Australia and The Daily Mail. Better still, she shut them down by referencing Instagram’s “world_record_egg.”
The egg, now the most-liked photo on Instagram by a landslide, has absolutely taken the world by storm. With 47.8 million likes as of Thursday evening, it seems like everyone has something to say about it now.
Whether or not there could ever be a baby on the way, Cyrus denied the claims in an amusing tweet.
“I’m not ‘Egg-xpecting’ but it’s ‘Egg-celent’ to hear everyone is so ‘Happy For Us’ …. we’re happy for us too! ‘Egg-cited’ for this next chapter in our lives…. Now, can everyone leave me alone and go back to staring at an egg,” she tweeted.
Along with her cheeky pun-filled tweet, the Nothing Breaks Like a Heart singer included a photoshopped picture of herself. The original image is the same one that The Daily Mail used to imply she might have a baby bump. The photoshopped image, of course, included the now-famous egg with the singer’s mouth photoshopped on it as well.
A few days prior, she also posted a photo of herself next to a giant egg. The caption? “Nothing Breaks Like an EGG!”
Kylie Jenner wasn’t exactly impressed with the stock photo breaking her record. The social media star and makeup mogul responded with a snapchat video of her smashing an egg on the pavement.
Others, however, found the viral sensation quite amusing.
Ellen DeGeneres got in on the trend by having Jenner’s face photoshopped onto the egg photo. The talk show host then estimated that the ultimate combination of the two should result in 51 million Instagram likes. (As of Thursday night, it had reached but a mere 4.3 million.)
Even Nintendo got in on the gag by posting a Yoshi egg on the social media platform.
