Multiple US airlines are experiencing systemwide outages across several airports.
Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United and Alaska Airlines have all reported experiencing outages systemwide on Monday, and while the glitch has been resolved, at least 1,798 flights have been delayed.
Southwest airlines alone experienced 500 flight delays. The now resolved technical issue was reportedly with AeroData, according to statements from American Airlines and JetBlue, a third-party service that provides weight and balance software that airlines used to determine flight plans and make fuel calculations, among other purposes.
Southwest airlines has lifted an internal ground stop it had implemented for about 40 minutes.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that the issue is resolved and delays should be “minimal.”
