Update: John Singleton’s family decided to take him off of life support. He died today at the age of 51.
‘Boyz n the Hood’, ‘8 Mile’ and “Black Snake Moan’ director John Singleton is “still on life support” his publicist has announced, correcting earlier news report that the 51-year-old had died, calling any other reports “inaccurate.”
Singleton suffered a massive stroke on April 17 and has reportedly been in a coma ever since.
Singleton was nominated for two Oscars in 1991, becoming the youngest director nominee.
In a related story, “Boyz N the Hood” actor Jessie Lawrence Ferguson died suddenly on Friday night at the age of 77, despite being healthy in the days prior, but police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
