As a followup to our prior story, Sri Lanka security officials have now been warned that the militants behind the Easter Sunday attacks are planning to do so again, and the attack might be carried out while wearing military uniforms.
A letter was sent to officials, that was then leaked to the media, that warns that an attack was being planned for either Sunday or Monday of this week. It warns that five locations were being targeted.
In the letter, the head of the ministerial security division said, “There could be another wave of attacks. The relevant information further notes that persons dressed in military uniforms and using a van could be involved in the attacks.”
There were no attacks on Sunday, which makes the threat even more imminent.
