On Saturday a man was arrested in Willowvale, South Africa after his mother identified him to police as the man who raped her while she walked home alone from a bar.
The suspect is either 28 or 29 according to reports coming out of South Africa and is accused to sexually assaulting his own mother late Friday night.
The victim was returning home alone from a bar in a village in Willowvale, which is located about 400km northeast of Port Elizabeth, when she heard footsteps behind her. She was then grabbed and dragged from the road, where she was raped.
The suspect fled the scene after the assault, but his mother, 50, identified him to police when she reported the incident and he was arrested Saturday. He will face a judge in South Africa next week for the attack.
“Butterworld Cluster Commander Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu strongly condemned the alleged rape of the victim especially by the suspect who was supposed to protect her as his mother.” A spokesman for the police departed stated.
Both the suspect and the victim’s names are not known.
