New Study Warns That Humanity Could End by 2050 Because of Climate Change

Australian think tank The Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration published a report this week stating that if immediate action is not taken, by 2050 climate change could be an “existential threat to human civilization” from which there is no return.

The report is endorsed by former Australian defense chief Admiral Chris Barrie, who writes within it that “A doomsday future is not inevitable, but without immediate drastic action our prospects are poor.”

    Why So Soon?

The report predicts that if the global temperature rises only 3C, we will see damage that humanity cannot fix. Ice sheets will vanish, drought will destroy the Amazon rainforest, and “Thirty-five percent of the global land area, and 55 percent of the global population, are subject to more than 20 days a year of lethal heat conditions, beyond the threshold of human survivability.”

The only solution is to mobilize a global effort to transition into a zero-carbon-emissions system, worldwide. The report admits this “would be akin in scale to the World War II emergency mobilization,”
