The Accident

The driver of the vehicle was in Kevin Hart’s Plymouth Barracuda. Both the driver and the passenger are currently unidentified, though it’s known that the driver is male and the passenger is female. Kevin Hart was in the back of the car when it crashed.

The driver seems to have flown off the road while driving on Mulholland Highway, a road well-known for its switchback turns and treacherous fall-offs. It appears that the Barracuda plowed through a wooden fence on the side of the road before rolling and impacting the ground, crushing the roof and pinning the driver and Kevin Hart in the vehicle.

First Responders

First responders on the scene had to cut the roof from the vehicle in order to rescue the people trapped inside. Due to the angle of the roof collapse, both the driver and Kevin Hart in the back seat were pinned and couldn’t move. According to the first responders, both the driver and Hart suffered “major back injuries” as a result of the incident.

From what responders on the scene stated, it appears as though the driver had not been drinking. A member of Hart’s security team arrived in an SUV to take him home to “receive medical attention” according to people on the scene. According to official reports, following this Hart did visit the hospital to receive medical attention for his serious injuries.

The Barracuda

The beautiful classic car involved in the wreck was actually purchased back in July. Hart bought it for himself as a 40th birthday present.

On Saturday, a video surfaced of Hart joyously burning rubber in the vehicle while being admonished by someone in the neighborhood. We hope for Kevin’s speedy recovery, and we’re glad that no one was killed in the accident.
